Tips on Performing at an Indian Wedding

1) Best in the front

This is not a popularity contest. Always put the best dancers in the front and center. Fill in the other spots as needed.

2) Smile

We know it sounds silly, but when you are on stage make sure to smile and relax. The crowd will cheer you on.

3) Sing

Any part of the song that you know, sing it! Don't just mouth the words, actually sing it. It doesn't have to be loud but when you sing it, it looks and feels more engaging. Its like your TikTok videos. You gotta fake it till you make it.

4) Steps

Keep it energetic but the steps simple. Don't try to do something that will only look good on half the dancers. To help make the dance seem grander, change your formation during the performance. Also keep the steps clean, you don't want someone's grandma fainting.

5) Transitions

People often think of the parts of the song they want to dance to and make steps based on it. They forget to put in extra steps for people to change formations, run off and on the dance floor, get and use props, etc. By putting that flare in there, you won't be rushed and people will think its all a part of the performance. Check out our blog, if you need help making your performance mix.

6) Keep it short

People usually think the longer the performance the more excited it will make everyone, but this is not the case. More songs can become a drag. A few songs would keep everyone’s attention and you could focus on bring the performance together.

7) Practice

Practice makes perfect. It also gives you time to bond with everyone in your group. Use your time wisely. Check out our blog on how to virtually practice together.

If you need help making a mix, you can always look up tutorials based on your computer, operating system and the software you want to use in Youtube. If this is something that you don't want to worry about and want to pay someone to do it for you, contact us here. Most mixes range between $250-$500 depending on how many songs, how long the mix is and how much time we have to get it back to you. A minimum of 2 weeks is required.
