We all know how fun it is to perform at a friend or family member’s wedding. It’s even fun to watch the performances! So here are a few points to consider as you are creating the awesome dance track for your performance. If you want new music lists on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube or want some Non-Stop Mixes, fill out the form on this page.

8 Tips On Making An Indian Wedding Performance Mix

You want your dance performance to be epic and we at DJ Riz Entertainment understand that. You know people will story it on Instagram, so why not make the perfect mix. Follow these simple guidelines to make a mix everyone will enjoy watching.

1) Use good quality tracks

The best place to find good quality tracks would be to buy the songs from Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music or any other official authorized music resource. The $1 spent on a track will save you from the horrible downloaded quality track that will not sound good in a ballroom. Those Youtube downloaded tracks may sound ok on your phone or computer but when you play it professional speakers it will sound even more distorted. You are putting all this time, effort and energy in dance practice, don't let it get ruined by using poor quality tracks to save $5.

2) Don't use the same songs

Popular songs are the number one options to go to when performing a dance at a wedding. It’s great to communicate to all the performers at your wedding to see who is performing to which specific track. You don’t want the same track danced to four or five times back to back. You might just end up hating that song after the night is over. You can also pick songs that you think others wont use but are still familiar.

3) Keep it short

People usually think the longer the performance the more excited it will make everyone, but this is not the case. More songs can become a drag. A few songs would keep everyone’s attention and you could focus on getting the performance perfect.

4) Keep it clean

Always use clean versions of tracks (no profanity). Using clean versions of the tracks will ensure that all the guests, young and old, can enjoy your performance without questioning what they just heard.

5) Transitions

People often think of the parts of the song they want to dance to and make edits based on it. They forget to put in extra music for people to change formations, run off and on the dance floor, get and use props, etc. By putting that time in there, you won't be rushed and people will think its all a part of the performance.

6) Save the project

What ever software or app you are using to make this mix, make sure you save the file while you are working on it and after you are done. This way if there are any changes once you start practicing, it will be a lot easier to make those edits.

7) File Name and format

When exporting the file from your app or software make sure you use your group name, couples name and the event it will be used for. (Bridesmaids Dance Sonal Amar Sangeet). Bonus points for putting the date of the performance in the name. Always save it in MP3 format.

8) Send it to the DJ

Once you have made the mix and practiced it with your group and there are no changes, it is final. Ask the couple for the DJs number or email and contact the DJ to find out how they want you to send the files over.

If you need help making a mix, you can always look up tutorials based on your computer, operating system and the software you want to use in Youtube. If this is something that you don't want to worry about and want to pay someone to do it for you, contact us here. Most mixes range between $250-$500 depending on how many songs, how long the mix is and how much time we have to get it back to you. A minimum of 2 weeks is required.
