Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs

Written by DJ Riz Entertainment | Oct 1, 2018 1:00:00 PM

Our brides and grooms love us because of our knowledge and experience with many different music genres.  It's natural for Indian wedding couples to seek our advice on what would be the best fit for them for all of their key wedding moments. Half of the Indian weddings we DJ are with both the bride and groom being of South Asian descent (Hindu, Christian or Muslim). The other half of the weddings we do are mixed or fusion weddings where one person is from South Asian descent and the other is not (White, Black, Hispanic or Asian).

In 1994, we did our first Indian wedding. Who would have guessed that 24 years later, the company would grow into a team of 12 amazing DJ's that travel around the world making memories for couples. We are truly blessed to do what we love and love what we do. Thousands of couples have trusted us with the biggest and best days of their lives. We wanted to figure out a way to help couples during various parts of their journey from getting engaged to being married. The first part of our blogs focused on Venues, followed by Vendors, and now it's time for Music.

When coming up with the Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs, we based it on the following::

  • While some brides may opt for instrumental music, many still prefer to make their entrance to songs with lyrics. In this blog, we are specifically focusing on Hindi/Punjabi music that either belongs to Bollywood or is a cover of popular songs.
  • We have seen many brides either use these songs or consider using these songs.
  • We wanted to give you many options so you can use the best one for you and your second favorite for your wedding party, if they are making an entrance right before you.
  • We have put together this list with a mix of classy entrances and a few fun upbeat ones.
  • Focus on listening to the song and not watching the video. Don't overlook the perfect song because you don't like the video. No one will see the video, they will all be watching you.

The following Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs are ranked based on what we have seen used most often within the last few years.

Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs

1) Din Shagna Da by Jasleen Royal

The number one spot on our Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs list goes to "Din Shagna Da" from the movie "Phillauri" starring Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh. This folk Punjabi song was remade in 2015 by The Wedding Filmer and gained popularity after going viral. Anushka Sharma loved it so much that she even used it in her own wedding with Virat Kohli. As we write this blog, it was also used last weekend for a wedding we just did, proving its enduring popularity.Fill out the form on this page and we will send you an email with all these songs on a playlist. 2) Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai by Shreya Ghoshal

Although this song is from Anushka Sharma's debut Bollywood film, "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" (and no, she's not my favorite actress - shout out to Aishwarya Rai), not all of the Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs are from her. Shreya Ghoshal, one of the best singers in Bollywood right now, lends her voice to this classy entrance song that many people may not be familiar with, despite it being on the original album. It's a perfect choice for any Indian wedding ceremony. Don't want to get married at a hotel?  Check out our blog on the Top 9 Indian Wedding Venues that aren't hotels.

3) Kaun Tujhe - Palak Muchhal

This particular song is a part of the biographical movie M.S. Dhoni. Unlike the first two entries in the Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs list, this one does not feature Anushka Sharma. Interestingly, we have noticed that our Gujarati brides have been favoring this song since its release in 2016. Despite being in Hindi, it seems to have struck a chord with our brides from Gujarat. Perhaps it's because they are always on the lookout for something unique and fresh, which is what this song offers. If you are looking for a great photographer, check out Top 9 Photographers.

4) Raabta by Shreya Ghoshal & Arijit Singh

Two of India's most talented singers, Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, collaborate for this beautiful song. The soundtrack of Agent Vinod features four different versions of "Raabta," and while my personal favorite is the one with just Arijit's voice, for this list of Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs, the version with Shreya Ghoshal is the perfect choice. Interestingly, the official version of this song was never posted online by T-Series, but we have a clear audio version for our brides who choose this song. While we had to use an unofficial video for this blog, the quality of the song remains unmatched. If you still need a decorator, check out the Top 7

5) Heer by Harshdeep Kaur

Jab Tak Hai Jaan, a Bollywood movie featuring Anushka Sharma, Shah Rukh Khan, and Katrina Kaif, boasts music by the legendary A.R. Rahman. When the film's song "Heer" first released in 2012, it became an instant hit at weddings. However, over time, it seems to have been forgotten. But we predict that it will make a comeback soon and become one of the most popular bridal entrance songs again. If you want to give it a try, fill out the form on this page, and we'll send you a playlist with all the songs mentioned in this blog post. Need a planner for your wedding? 6) Mangalyam by KK, Shaan, Kunal, and Sreenivas

Why did we add the song from Saathiya to our Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs list even though it has male vocals? Well, first, our South Indian brides absolutely adore it (probably because of its catchy hook). Second, it's a popular Bollywood wedding song that fits the occasion perfectly. And lastly, the most important reason - our brides just want it. Although this track didn't receive the recognition it deserved upon the movie's release, it's still a fantastic option for entrances. It might not be an A.R. Rahman composition specifically made for weddings, but it still works like a charm. 7) Navrai Majhi by Sunidhi Chauhan and others

At first, we hesitated to include this upbeat English Vinglish song on the list. However, we ultimately decided to add it to give you a variety of options. If you want to make a joyful entrance with a song that perfectly captures the occasion, this is the perfect choice. The lyrics are fitting, and if your mother is a Sridevi fan, it will make her day. Fill out the form on this page, and we'll send you a playlist with all the songs mentioned in this blog post.

8) Samjhawan Unplugged by Alia Bhatt

This folk Punjabi song from the movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, sung by Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, takes the 8th spot on our list. Originally remade by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for the Punjabi film Virsa, it gained popularity and was eventually featured in Bollywood the following year. This particular version of "Samjhawan Unplugged" was not released on the album, but it's a hidden gem that we love to share with our brides. Fill out the form on this page, and we'll send you a playlist with all the songs mentioned in this blog post.

9) Nai Jaana by Neha Bhasin

Neha Bhasin's "Nai Jaana" stands out on the Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs list as the only non-Bollywood track. However, with the frequency of remakes in Bollywood, it won't be surprising to hear this folk song in a movie soon. The contemporary twist Neha brings to the track's traditional roots resonates with many of our Hindu Punjabi brides, making it a perfect choice for their ceremony entrance. Her flawless vocals capture the right amount of emotion and energy needed to set the tone for a memorable entrance. This song probably hasn't been played before or at least not often. 10) Paalkhi Mein Hoke by Alka Yagnik

The final song on our list of Top 10 Indian Wedding Bridal Entrance Songs is the oldest one, hailing from the 1993 movie Khalnayak. As wedding DJs for over two decades, we've had the pleasure of being a part of thousands of weddings and have seen this track become a hit with certain couples. If this song brings back nostalgic memories for you or you're looking to add some fun to your entrance, it may just be the perfect choice. And if it doesn't make the cut for your entrance, you can always have it played at one of your pre-wedding events like Mehndi, Sangeet, or Garba.
