When making this blog we kept our couples in mind. Half of the weddings we DJ are with both the bride and groom being of South Asian decent. The other half of the weddings we do are mixed or fusion weddings where one person is South Asian and the other is not South Asian (White, Black, Hispanic or Asian).
The main purpose of this blog is to explain to couples what special effect options they have and what is the purpose of each type of effect. If you need a timeline for your event, fill out the form on this page and we will send it to you.
These are the new special effects that everyone is talking about. They look amazing in pictures and videos, gives couples the wow factor they are looking for and are completely safe. Our fireworks wont even burn a piece of paper but look like the real flames. The other benefit is they are smokeless and odorless. We are licensed by the State of Texas to run these effects, we pull all the necessary permits needed, hire a fire marshal to be present, and are fully insured. Almost everyone else is doing this illegally. This can result in your wedding being shut down, $10k fine to the host and 6 months jail time for the service provider. If your DJ does not have all the documentation, don't risk your wedding being shut down and paying $10k to the city.
The intent of this blog is to help as many couples as we can with our advice and of course work closely with the couples that book us with making sure everything is perfect for them on their big day. All of our special effects are controlled by trained and licensed technicians. If you want to speak with us about being a part of your wedding, contact us here.
People have used these indoor fireworks (also known as cold sparks or cold fountains) for first dances, entrances, performances and during the open dance floor. The key with this effect is, less is more. If you use it too often at one event, it may lose its charm or impact.
Check out this picture from our epic first dance collection. This one is from Parita & Kirang's wedding, shot by the talented MnM Photography. Don't forget to fill out the form on this page to get your free copy of our timeline template. Check out some suggestions for your first dance song.
Dancing on a cloud
Some DJs refer to this effect as smoke effect, cloud effect, or dry ice effect. Make sure they are using this effect with dry Ice and not liquid fog juice. Since we have a dedicated special effect technician at our events, we can make the effect look great and not setoff any alarms. This effect is used mainly for the couples first dance. Some couples have used it for entrances, performances, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, and skits.
This effect you only want to use once, and thats the main reason, couples choose to use it for their first dance. Check out this video which show many of the effects discussed in this blog.
This is an amazing effect that we haven't seen any other DJ company provide. We have been doing this for many years and love seeing our couples photos and videos from it. We bring 4 professional grade canons (not the disposable single use hand held canons that you may have seen). They are filled with fresh rose petals. Most people choose red but you can use whatever color your prefer. They are loaded into the canon and the pressure has to be strong enough to push the flowers out but not too strong or the petals will shred. Our dedicated special effects technician will make sure everything is perfect for this moment. We have become Indian wedding special effects experts. So much so that couples, venues and planners will contact us directly if their couples haven't hired us to DJ but they want to make sure their special effects are flawless. You can see it in the previous video at 0:18.
Other great places to use this effect is at end of the ceremony or when you are entering. Here is a picture from a wedding we did that was shot by the amazing husband and wife team at Ivy Weddings. The couple had a beautiful outdoor wedding and wanted to use red and white flowers. Check out some suggestions on wedding exit songs.
There are lots of fun ways to use this at weddings. You can do it during a baraat, at the end of the wedding. reception entrance, at the end of the first dance and during the open dance floor. A vast majority of the time it gets used during the open dance floor to get a fun shot of you celebrating with your guests. The next most popular time we have seen it is at the end of the first dance. During the first dance couples will usually choose a single theme color they want to use. In the previous video check out the metallic gold confetti at 0:08. During the open dance floor people want to use fun multicolor metallic confetti. Whichever one you choose, we got you covered. In the following video of a few weddings we did in 2018, you can see how fun the confetti is on the dance floor.

Co2 Cannon may look the same as dancing on a cloud but its not. Dancing on a cloud feels like room temperature if you touch it. It likes to stay on the ground and disappears before it passes your waist. Co2 is a blast of cold air that looks great in pictures and video. Imagine a hot baraat in Texas and you want to stay out and dance to great music but you feel like you are melting. Not only does the Co2 cannon provide cooler temperatures but also creates great videos and photos for your highlights. Our couples have also used it during open dancing. Your friends will go wild when they see you on stage spraying the cold air on them. Check out this video where we show some of our special effects used at a baraat. After the baraat is the grooms entrance to the mandap. Check out some song suggestions for the grooms entrance.
We only recommend this to our couples that are doing some part of their wedding outdoor. Its like you are painting the sky. This can be used as you are exiting the wedding ceremony but its perfect for baraats. In the previous video check out 0:48 for a quick glimpse of what it can do.
